Dhaka stocks extend gains further 

Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened higher today, the first trading day of the week, extending the gains to the seventh straight session.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse in Bangladesh, rose 33 points, or 0.51 per cent, to 6,442 at 12:15 pm. Turnover stood at Tk 1,445 crore.

Of the securities, 160 advanced, 140 declined and 74 did not show any price movement.
