Bangladeshi firms promote products at Korean expo
Bangladesh showcased its export potential at the three-day Korea Import Expo 2026, with 32 companies displaying products ranging from apparel and leather goods to IT solutions and processed food.
Jointly organised by the Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KBCCI), in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul, the expo held at COEX Hall B in Seoul attracted foreign embassies, international companies, Korean importers, distributors and trade-related organisations, according to a press release.
The Bangladeshi exhibitors featured apparel, textiles and garment accessories; leather goods and footwear; jute, eco-friendly biodegradable products and handicrafts; agro and processed food; information technology and AI-driven software solutions; and logistics services.
Around 200 booths at the exhibition showcased a broad range of products, including food and beverages, cosmetics, consumer goods, household products, health and wellness items, electronics, industrial materials and innovative technologies.
The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by Young Mi Youn, chairman of the Korea Importers Association, and Toufiq Islam Shatil, Bangladesh ambassador to the Republic of Korea, the press release added.
A 41-member business delegation, led by KBCCI President Shahab Uddin Khan, travelled to Seoul to represent Bangladesh at the event.
The Bangladesh pavilion attracted strong interest from buyers and visitors under the theme, “Invest in Bangladesh: Advancing Trade and Investment Through Strong Bilateral Relations”, highlighting the country’s growing export potential.
The Bangladesh ambassador pledged the embassy’s full support to KBCCI and the business delegation in strengthening trade and investment ties between Bangladesh and South Korea.
Among those present were Lee Yun Young, vice-president of Korea International Cooperation Agency and former ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh; Park Young Sik, former ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh; and David Kim, honorary consul general of Bangladesh in Incheon, South Korea.
