Austerity measures: Fire service reduces patrol duty from 92 to 24 spots

Star Digital Report

The Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence has reduced its patrol duty to 24 important spots from 92 as part of austerity measures and to save 20 percent of their allocated fuel.

In an order signed by Director Lt Col Zillur Rahman, it also said that all sorts of transportation will be limited through coordination.

"Same transport will send and bring both divisional and government goods," the notice reads.

Besides, all deputy directors will conduct meetings virtually to reduce movement on roads.
