Car crash kills 3 in Cumilla

Three people, including a young couple, were killed as a car fell into a road-side ditch in Muradnagar upazila of Cumiila yesterday.

The dead are Saddam Hossain, 27, of Brahmanbaria, his wife Parvin, 23, and the car driver Abdur Rahman, 28, of Noakhali, said police.

Quamruzzaman Talukder, officer-in-charge of Bangara Police Station, said the bodies were handed over to family members and an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.

According to witnesses, a overspeeding black car lost control and fell into a road-side ditch around 12:00 noon. The car drowned but the locals managed to rescue the trio and sent them to a local hospital.

The on-duty doctors at the hospital declared the trio dead.
