7 more die with Covid symptoms

Seven people died with coronavirus symptoms at Cumilla Medical College Hospital (CuMCH) in the last 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday.

Of them, three were of the district's Burichang upazila, two of Debidwar upazila, one of Muradnagar upazila, and one of Sadar upazila, said CuMCH Director Muzibur Rahman.

Four of the dead breathed their last at the hospital's ICU whereas three others at the isolation unit. All of them got admitted to the hospital with cold, cough and breathing difficulties, he added.

The dead are Rafiqul Islam, 60, Abdul Khalek, 85, and Inun Nahar, 60, of Burichang upazila; Lalu Mia, 70, and Shahina Akter, 51, of Debidwar upazila; Maruf Akter, 38, of Muradnagar upazila; Abdul Halim, 68, of Sadar upazila.

With them, 26 people died with Covid-19 symptoms in the last week. The total death toll is now above 300 in the district.
