The workshop was conducted by Harean Hettiarachchi, licensing specialist of Microsoft. The Workshop was formally inaugurated by K.M. Imran Al-Amin, public sector manager of Microsoft Bangladesh.

"The purpose of the workshop is to increase awareness among public sector purchase and audit officials on the overall advantages of buying genuine software licenses and identification of fraudulent ones, and thereby reducing software piracy; and increasing the value to the sustainability of the local software eco-system", said Al-Amin.

It marks the first occasion that Microsoft Bangladesh has arranged such skill development workshop in Bangladesh with resources from abroad to enhance the expertise of the local public sector officials.
