Foreign liquor seized

Sources said the Coast Guard members intercepted a boat for its suspicious movement at the estuary at around 1:00am.

At that moment, the people on board jumped into the river and fled leaving the boat with a huge cache of smuggled foreign liquor behind.

The Coast Guard men seized the abandoned boat and recovered 943 bottles of foreign liquor of different brands worth Tk 25.45 lakh.

The seized liquor included dry jin of Myanmar and Ram of London, sources said.
