Resignation of CA demanded

At a rally at the Central Shaheed Minar in the city, the speakers demanded cancellation of fake voter list and inclusion of eligible voters.
Women in almost every professions, including academicians, litterateurs, artistes and journalists joined the rally demanding creation of a conducive environment for a free and fair election.
"The president and chief adviser to the caretaker government is acting just according to the dictation of a particular political party. Even the advisers who had been trying their best to help conduct a free and fair election were forced to resign," said President of Women for Women Mahmuda Islam expressing her dissatisfaction on the current grave situation.
Criticising the president, the speakers also said by deploying army, the president as if stood against the people.
The judiciary is nearly ruined and the bureaucracy has become a political party, they observed.
Bangladesh Mahila Parishad General Secretary Ayesha Khanam said the democratic process is thwarted by the resignation of the four advisers.
The rally was presided over by women leader Mahfuza Khanam while among others Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury, Shirin Akhter, Ferdousi Priyabhashini, Prof Sultana Shafi, Prof Zarina Rahman Khan, Advocate Dipu Moni, Lubna Mariam and journalist Nasimun Ara Huq were also present.
Mass signature was collected at the rally for expressing solidarity with the demand of holding a free and fair election.
