3 killed in road accidents

At least three people were killed in separate road accidents in Tangail and Natore yesterday.

Our correspondent from Tangail reports: A bicycle rider was killed in a road accident at Sadar upazila in the district yesterday.

The victim was identified as Mohammad Moktar Ali, 60, of Golabari village at Sadar upazila.

Police said the accident took place at around 1:00pm when a North Bengal bound speeding bus from Dhaka ran over Mokter Ali on Dhaka-Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge highway at Gharinda area, leaving him died on the spot.

Police sent the body to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

UNB from Natore adds: Two motorcyclists were killed as a bus hit a motorbike at Razzak crossing on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway yesterday.

Sources said a Rajshahi-bound bus from Mymensingh hit a motorbike from behind at noon, leaving Swapan and Mannan injured critically.

The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where they succumbed in the afternoon.
