Nrityanchal to perform at Nobel Peace Prize giving ceremony in Oslo

Nrityanchal, a leading dance group, has been invited to perform in the cultural session of Nobel Peace Prize Awarding Ceremony 2006 in Oslo, Norway where Prof Muhammad Yunus and his Grameen Bank will receive the award on December 10.

A 15-member team led by Shamim Ara Nipa and Shibli Mohammad will leave for Oslo along with Yunus and Grameen Bank team on December 8, a press release said.

The team, invited by Nobel Committee on 'personal request' of Prof Yunus, will represent Bangladesh with two traditional folk dances.

Nrityanchal will also perform at Nobel Peace Prize concert at Oslo Spectrum on December 11 which will be conducted by film stars Sharon Stone and Angelica Huston.

They will also perform at receptions accorded to Prof Yunus in Oslo and Paris.
