SAIC governing board meet begins tomorrow

Kazi Abul Kashem, secretary to the agriculture ministry, will inaugurate the meeting as the chief guest at the conference room of BARC while Pema Lhamo, programme director, Information and Communication Services, Ministry of Agriculture, Bhutan, will preside over the meeting.

Members of the governing board from the Saarc countries -- Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka -- will take part in the three-day meeting.

Directors from the Saarc Secretariat, Nepal, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, government of Bangladesh, will also participate in the meeting.

The meeting will consider the activities of SAIC and finalise the programmes and budget provisions for 2007.
