Ctg Visa Centre of Indian HC opens tomorrow

The newly set up SBI Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) aiming at issuing visa within a day will open here in the port city tomorrow.

Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan is expected to formally inaugurate the visa centre at 11:00am tomorrow while the centre would be operational on Tuesday.

Assistant High Commission of India (AHCI), Chittagong, together with the State Bank of India (SBI) has set up the SBI Indian Visa Application Centre (SBI IVAC) at plot no. 2111 (adjoining to AHCI, Chittagong) at Zakir Hossain Road of the city's Khulshi area.

Under the new arrangement, Bangladeshi nationals will apply for visa at SBI IVAC from 9:00am to 12:00noon and can take delivery of the visa approved passports from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on the same day, said a press release issued by AHCI, Chittagong here last evening.

SBI will take a service charge of Tk 200 per passport (inclusive of VAT payable to the Government of Bangladesh) to meet the related expenses, it said.
