S Korean concert stampede kills 11

The accident happened when about 5,000 people rushed to enter a gate at an outdoor stadium in the city, 270 kilometres (167 miles) south of Seoul.

"We found 11 people dead and some 60 injured in the accident," a Sangju police officer told AFP.

The dead were mostly people in their sixties but also included a seven-year-old boy and several teenagers, said the officer, who declined to give his full name.
