The tribal men and women are engaged in Jum cultivation, a traditional method of farming in the hills. The Jum cultivation, however, is a threat to environment as the hills are cleared off shrubs and trees and slopes of the hills cut during this traditional method of cultivation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHTs).
