You
You came to me so gently
Like a wave upon the shore
Nipping at my rough edges
Skimming my saddened surface
Rinsing sun-licked wounds.
Salted grains of pain, bleached white
Scattered with a swoosh
You made me glisten
With a new moisture
Slipping, sometimes gushing, artlessly
Into the sullen crevices of my soul
Did it all so gently
I didn't even know
Until I looked down one day
And saw, I was steeped
In a sea of you
Like a wave upon the shore
Nipping at my rough edges
Skimming my saddened surface
Rinsing sun-licked wounds.
Salted grains of pain, bleached white
Scattered with a swoosh
You made me glisten
With a new moisture
Slipping, sometimes gushing, artlessly
Into the sullen crevices of my soul
Did it all so gently
I didn't even know
Until I looked down one day
And saw, I was steeped
In a sea of you
