BATB receives Zero Accident Award

British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) has received 'Zero Accident Award' from British American Tobacco plc. for achieving one year's operation (May 2003 to April 2004) without a lost workday case accident, says a press release.

Golam Mainuddin, managing director of BATB, handed over the award to company's Head of Operations Paul Thompson in the city recently.

The award is one of the highest appreciation within the British American Tobacco (BAT) group of companies in the area of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).

The award recognises and rewards companies for their achievement of the highest standards of health and safety protection.

BATB has a global policy on Environmental Health & Safety practices that aims at achieving a high level of EHS standards. This is the seventh time that BATB has got the 'Zero Accident Award.'
