Madrasa teacher gets life for raping a cook

The court also fined the convict - Superintendent of Tataiya Mohila Madrasa Abdul Mazid - Tk 1,000, in default, to suffer one year more RI.

According to the prosecution, the convict raped the Madrasa cook in a room of Alif Hostel in the town on the night of November 7, 2000 with a promise to marry her.

As Mozid later refused to marry her, she filed a case against him under the Woman and Child Repression Prevention Act.

After examining the records and nine witnesses, special tribunal Judge Biplob Goswami awarded the punishment.
