Police arrested some 1,494 people, including three identified criminals, on various charges during their countrywide drive in the last 24 hours ending at 6.00am yesterday.
During the period, the law enforcers recovered 21 firearms, four other weapons and 139 bullets and filed seven cases against 25 people under the Arms Act, says police headquarters press release.
