Australian grant for flood victims
Australian High Commissioner Lorranie Barker yesterday handed over a grant of Tk 19.8 lakh from her government and Kleenheat Gas Country Manager Klaus Guhra a cheque for Tk 4.5 lakh to Tony Maryon, head of delegation of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRCS) for the flood victims, says a press release.
In response to the international appeal by the IFRCS, Kleenheat Gas, the largest Australian investor in Bangladesh, joined with the Australian Government to provide assistance for the flood victims. The IFRCS appeal will meet the food, non-food and health needs in their emergency relief phase, and in the rehabilitation phase will meet the longer term needs.
The donation was part of Kleenheat Gas's broader community support scheme which recognises its corporate social responsibility.
