Appeal for help

Doctors at Bumrungrad Hospital said Jebun Nahar will have to stay there two months more for her full recovery.

As her family is now in severe financial crisis, they have requested the hospital authorities to continue her expensive treatment with the promise that they will pay all the arrears before leaving the hospital.

As a guaranty, the passports of Jebun, her father Amirul Islam, a captain (Retd) of Bangladesh Navy, and her mother have been deposited to the hospital, said family sources.

An assistant director of Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) of Dhaka Range, Jebun met a road accident at Dhamrai near Dhaka on September 20 last year.

Her brain, eye, liver, kidney and other parts of the body were seriously injured in the accident.

Jebun, a mother of two children, was leaving a lonely life after losing her husband.

Her family met her treatment cost for last 11 months at home and abroad by taking loan from relatives and selling their property.

But they are now unable to bear the expenses of her treatment and appealed for financial assistance from benevolent people.
