3 child traffickers get life
Of the three, only one convict Shaheda was present at the court but two others, Fatema and Phul Miah, are still at large in Dubai.
Judge Mafizul Islam of Special Tribunal for Prevention of Women and Children Repression gave the verdict.
According to the prosecution, Fatema brought her nephew Rabiul to Dhaka from Ramnagar, Bandar, with a lure of job but she trafficked him to Dubai on February 25, 1998 with the connivance of Shaheda and Phul Miah.
Serving as a jockey in Dubai, Rabiul, son of Habibur Rahman, was critically injured after falling off a camel on July 6 in 2001. Later, he died in a hospital there.
