Bomb attack on cops: 2 injured in Jessore

The attack created a panic among the residents of the town.

The injured, Rokon Uddin and Abu Syed, were in a 14-member team patrolling the area in a pick-up van. The two are now fighting for life at a hospital.

A gang of three hoodlums hurled hand-made bombs at the van at around 8.00pm and fled the scene in a motorcycle.

Superintendent of Police Sahidul Islam said a large number of policemen have been deployed in different strategic points to ensure security of the people.

However, none was arrested in connection with the attack.
