Theft at city market
Burglars committed theft at a shop at Motijheel market in the early hours of yesterday and took away valuables worth around Tk 14 lakh.
Atiqur Rahman, the owner of New Opera at 55/A New Super Market, said he closed his shop at 10:30pm on Wednesday and found the locks broken when he was going to open the shop at 9:30am yesterday.
The thieves took away cash, mobile sets and mobile phone cards from the shop, he said in the first information report (FIR) that he filed with Motijheel Police Station.
Police could neither arrest anyone nor recover the stolen goods.
