BAU engr assaulted by JCD cadres
An assistant engineer of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) was assaulted yesterday allegedly by a group of armed cadres belonging to Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of the BNP.
The victim Md Mustafizur Rahman was admitted to BAU Health Complex.
Sources said the group members Raju, Shamim, Anis and Pranto entered the room of Mustafizur at about 3:15pm and started ransacking the room.
They demanded tolls from him and a contractor present in the room at that time.
As they refused to pay, Raju hit the engineer with a piece of broken glass leaving him injured critically.
Mustafizur has lodged a complaint with BAU Registrar in this connection.
