Police sergeant Stabbed

Sergeant Merajul Islam was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in a critical condition with several injuries in his head and neck.

Meraj, accompanied by Zafarullah and Nasir, went to the area for requisition of a microbus.

At one stage of negotiation, Meraj asked Bablu, a youth of the locality, to show papers for his motorcycle.

Bablu went to his house on the plea to bring the papers, returned after a while with a machete and started stabbing Meraj indiscriminately.

Police arrested Bablu, seized his motorcycle and filed a case in this connection.
