Shahjahan got 21 votes while his rival Shahidullah Khan of UNB five votes. Chaitanya Chandra Halder bagged 17 votes and his rival Mahbubul Haq of Sangbad nine votes.

Other office-bearers are Prakash Ranjan Biswas of News Today (Vice-President), Shahidullah Mian of The Daily Sangram (Assistant General Secretary), Abul Kamal Azad of The Daily Ajkaler Khabar (Treasurer), Azad Rahman of The Daily Khabarpatra (Office and Publicity Secretary). Members are Munzur Alam of The Independent, Samiul Karim Alamgir of The Daily Bhorer Kagoj and Khandaker Newazul Bari of the BSS.

All 26 members cast their vote in the election held at the association office.

Divisional Special Judge Rezaul Karim Khan conducted the election as the chief election commissioner assisted by District PP Mohsin Mian and Advocates Khalequazzaman Montu and Rezaul Karim Heron.

Abdul Haq Bhuiyan of The Manabjamin was nominated chief advisor of the association.
