journalists reject charge sheet
Khulna Press Club, Khulna Union of Journalists, Jessore Press Club and Jessore Union of Journalists in separate statements protested the charge sheet submitted to court on Monday for what they said sparing the masterminds of the murder.
They also warned of dire consequences in future in case of any undesirable political influence to damage merit of Janakantha journalist Shamsur Rahman murder case of Jessore and Dainik Purbanchal crime reporter Sheikh Haroon-ar-Rashid murder case of Khulna.
Meanwhile, journalists at a meeting on Tuesday at the Khulna Press Club expressed their surprise over implication of some armed cadres of M-L faction of Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) in Manik Saha murder. They said the Janajuddho faction of PBCP already claimed responsibility of the murder in a fax message on the night of January 15. On the other hand M-L faction of PBCP in another fax message the same night denied their involvement in the murder, they added.
