A three-day Career Building Programme began at the British School of Law at Gulshan in the city yesterday to help students make the right choice about higher education and their career.

The British School of Law in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, British Council, Edexcel International, London Metropolitan University and Victoria BETS University has organised the programme aimed at raising awareness among students, teachers and parents about quality education.

Five stalls have been set up at the exhibition to counsel students on education and career. They are also distributing leaflets, booklets, university brochures and guidelines.

Students usually rush to low quality institutions here to prepare to go abroad or even enrol in lower grade universities abroad, but such steps does not help them make right career move, said Andaleev Rahman, managing director and faculty of the school.

The British School of Law advises students to attend A-levels to get themselves prepared if they want to go abroad, said Taufiqur Rahman, head of laws of the school.

Law Minister Moudud Ahmed visited the exhibition in the afternoon.

"We lack quality educational institutions here and I think the school is doing a good job providing students with good educational environment and facilities to make a career in law," he told The Daily Star.

The exhibition will remain open from 11.00am to 7.00pm till tomorrow.
