Dr Kan, popularly known as Dr Yakub, left behind his wife, three sons and two daughters.

The Chinese-born physician was the owner of Dental Clinic at Laldighi, one of the oldest such clinics in the port city.

He will be cremated at Patharghata Church Burial Ground on Wednesday after arrival of his sons and daughters, now living in Canada and USA, family sources said.
