8 shops fined for using banned polybags
A mobile court yesterday fined eight shops of Town Hall and Agriculture Markets at Mohammadpur in the city for using banned polythene covers and bags.
The court realised the fines during a sudden visit of State Minister for Environment and Forest Jafrul Islam Chowdhury at the markets.
Jafrul Islam explained the bad affect of polythene to the shop owners and asked them to refrain from using polythene bags.
