4 get life for murder
A court in Magura yesterday awarded life-term rigorous imprisonment (RI) to four youths and fined them Tk 20,000 each in default to suffer one year more RI in a murder case.
District and Sessions Judge Md Shafiuddin acquitted another accused of the charge.
The convicts are: Shukur Ali, Anwarul Islam, Rabiul Islam and Nazmul Islam of village Bashkotha in Magura Sadar upazila.
According to the prosecution, Habibur Rahman, 20, son of Mohor Ali Molla was murdered after abduction on October 17, 2001.
Victim's father filed a murder case with the Magura Sadar Police Station the following day. Police after investigation, pressed charges against five people, including Marzina Khatun, the step-mother of the victim.
