Release of BCL men demanded

At a rally on the Dhaka University campus, the BCL leaders also demanded withdrawal of 'false cases' against the arrested activists.

They alleged that the BNP-Jamaat alliance has filed cases against hundreds of BCL leaders and workers only to protect the real killers.

They called on the government to bring the culprits to book immediately. Otherwise, the people will unite to unseat the government, they threatened.

The leaders blamed the communal forces for the bomb attack at the shrine of Hazarat Shahajalal in Sylhet.

"We demand immediate arrest of and punishment to the Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir cadres responsible for the bomb attack," BCL President Liaqat Sikder said.

Demanding a ban on Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh, he said the alliance government is harbouring Bangla Bhai.

BCL General Secretary Nazrul Islam Babu, BCL DU unit President Delwar Hossain and BCL leaders Saifuzzaman Shekhar, Morsheduzzaman Selim, Anisur Rahman and Hemayet Uddin Khan Himu also spoke.
