Auto-rickshaw driver murdered at Fatikchhari

The ill-fated driver was identified as Rezaul Karim alias Azim, 30.

Police said three miscreants, Shahidullah, Shahidul Islam and Mir Hossain, hired the three-wheeler from Bartakia under Mirer Sarai upazila for going to Fatikchhari in the evening.

But the criminals forced the driver Azim to get down at Datmara rubber garden on the way and stabbed him to death on the spot.

While fleeing with the auto-rickshaw, they were intercepted by local people as their blood-strained clothes roused suspicion at around 10:30pm.

They nabbed Shahidullah and Shahidul while Mir Hossain managed to escape.

The mob gave the criminals a good beating and handed them over to police.
