RUTA postpones indefinite strike

The association began the strike on April 20 to press its two-point demand -- cancellation of controversial recruitment of 544 employees and resignation of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Faisul Islam Faruki and Pro-VC Shahadat Hossain Mondol.

The strike has been postponed in view of the vacation, but agitation will continue until the demands are met, said association Joint Secretary Sadekul Arefin Matin.
