Property worth Tk 4 lakh damaged

Fire service sources said the fire broke out at the warehouse behind the CCC CNG Refueling Station at Dampara at around 12.55pm.
The fire burnt electric cables and accessories, motor tires and tubes, and sanitary items producing huge smoke and obnoxious smell.
Sources said it was a bit difficult to extinguish the fire as the smoke got trapped inside the huge warehouse with poor ventilation system.
The fire continued for over two hours before five fire fighting units put out it at around 3.15pm.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from electric short-circuits. Damage of property was estimated at around Tk 4 lakh.
According to a CCC press release, most of the items damaged in the fire were rejected and left-over ones.
A four-member committee has been formed with CCC Executive Engineer (mechanical) Abul Hasnat as its head to find out the cause of fire and assess the damage of property.
Other committee members are CCC Law Officer Sarwar Alam, and Executive Engineers Abu Saleh and Mahfuzur Rahman.
The committee will submit its report within the three days, the press release added.
