Woman strangled, another shot dead in city
Badda police recovered the body of the woman aged about 25 from near a house at Block-B in Aftabnagar Project at about 1:00pm and sent it to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
The body bore marks of strangulation around her neck and bruises in throat and chest, police and hospital sources said.
Police could not ascertain the motive behind the killing immediately.
Thirty five-year-old grocer Shafiqur Rahman who was shot by a gang of local criminals inside his shop at Sheikh Saheb Bazar in the city succumbed to his injuries at the DMCH yesterday.
The gang allegedly led by one Mainuddin sprayed bullets on Shafiq when he refused to sell goods to Mainuddin on credit, victim's father Shukkur Ali said.
Pedestrian Riaz Mahmud Apu and Shamsuddin, a customer, also received bullet injuries during the shooting.
