Transport owner shot dead at Raozan

The victim was identified as Md. Kamaluddin, 38, general secretary of Kaptai Auto-tempo Owners' Association backed by Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal at Paschim Gujara under Raozan thana.

Kamal came under attack at Kaptai Road at Patherhat area at around 4.00pm when he was returning home from the Association office. The gunmen sprayed bullet on him. He died on the spot.

Kamal attended a meeting as a part of campaign in favour of the BNP backed chairman candidate for the by-election in Paschim Gujara Union Parished scheduled to hold today, sources said.

The by-poll will be held as the chairman of the union - Abu Taher- was shot dead few months back.
