Portray history, culture, achievements

PM urges expatriates
UNB, Dhaka
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday hoped that expatriates would portray the history, culture, achievements and development of Bangladesh among the foreigners and Bangladeshis living abroad to create a positive impact.

Khaleda said this when a delegation led by Camden Mayor Nasim Ali made a courtesy call on her at her office. Nasim Ali is the youngest mayor in London.

Around 25,000 Bangladeshi people live in Camden Town, London, and they constitute the third-largest Bangladeshi community in the United Kingdom.

Other members of the delegation are Major Charles Winstanley, the Queen's representative, leader of the Camden Council councillor Dame Jane Roberts, community leader Abdul Hai and councillor Fazlul Karim Chowdhury.

She thanked them for making contribution to the British community and government efforts.

She urged affluent expatriates to help other Bangladeshis who are comparatively less privileged abroad.
