Trader chopped to death at Baufal

The victim was identified as Govinda Chandra Saha, 38.

According to police and victim's family sources, Govinda had a business dispute with Liton, another businessman.

When Govinda was returning home at Sahapara from Kalaia Bandar in a rickshaw at about 8:00pm, Liton and his associates attacked him near Daspara and chopped him to death.

Local people rushed to the spot, held Liton and handed him over to police.

Khhitish Chandra Saha, father of the victim, filed a murder case with Baufal Police Station.

A daylong strike, called by local businessmen, was observed at Baufal and Kalaia yesterday to protest the killing.

At a meeting presided over by Nirmal Kumar Banik, Baufal Bayabsaee Kalyan Samity, also condemned the killing.
