JCD cadres beat 4 BCL activists at JU

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) cadres of Jahangirnagar University (JU) beat four Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists and ousted two others from their dormitories in last two days.

The JCD cadres led by Sujon, a student of Archaeology, beat Nipun, a third year student of history, with sticks at his room at around 2:30pm yesterday and ordered him to leave the hall. Since then Nipun was missing till the writing of this report at 6:

00pm.

In another incident, Rabi, Himel and Alam, resident students of Shaheed Salam Barkat (SSB) Hall, were beaten at around 2:00pm yesterday.

The JCD cadres, led by Arif Mridha and Rumi, brought them to the guest room and beat them with sticks as they took part in a BCL meeting.

Rabi and Himel were rushed to university medical centre while Alam left the hall after the incident, BCL sources said.

Earlier on Monday, a group of JCD cadres, led by Palash and Selim, ousted Mahfuz and Bakul from the SSB hall at around 2:00am and threatened them with dire consequences if they return.
