2 die in road mishaps

The naked body of the student Helal Hafizur Rahman Mizan, 24, was found near the Khilkhet bus stand in the early morning.

Police said he was run over by a speeding vehicle at around 5.00am.

Mizan, son of Havilder (retd.) Matiur Rahman and a resident of Kuratoli, Badda, was a student of English. He also studied chartered accountancy.

He became mentally deranged about 25 days ago due to increased academic pressure, said his uncle Selim Ahmed.

His family members kept him confined to a room but he managed to get out of the house in the early hours of yesterday.

Police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.

In Gulshan, thirty-five-year-old Md Faruq was injured when a Mishuk, a three-wheeler, knocked him down at around 10:30pm on Monday.

He was rushed to the DMCH where he died after two and a half hours.
