Humayun Azad to undergo operation

"My father called me this afternoon to tell that he is to undergo an operation," Smita Azad, daughter of Humayun Azad, told The Daily Star yesterday.

She said the date of her father's return would be decided after the plastic surgery takes place in the morning.

The face of Humayun Azad was severely disfigured following the brutal attack on him by unidentified assailants on February 27.

He was flown to Bangkok for advanced treatment on March 22.
