40 students vying for each seat

The university has 1,100 seats under 24 departments, but 42,192 candidates are seeking to enrol at the first year honours classes under 2003-04 academic session.

The admission tests will be held under four units Ka (science faculty), Kha (social science faculty), Ga (arts faculty) and Gha (life science faculty).

A total of 10,950 students will sit for the admission tests under Ga unit, 9,278 under Ka unit, 14,314 under Kha unit and 7,650 under Gha unit, university sources said.
