Cigarettes, nets worth Tk 87 lakh seized

The nets were seized from coastal areas of Char Fatra, Sowdagarpara, Goitala, Laskarpara, Newpara, Khepupara, Mohipur, Fulbunia, Kolapara, Charkechikata, Satnal, Gozaria, Kaliarchar, Katakhali, Char Bharabi, Tejgachia, Agunmukho, Patua, Golachipa and other adjoining areas.

The seized nets were burnt in front of local people and fisheries officials.

The Coast Guard members of east zone raided the Reajuddin market and New Market in Chittagong and seized foreign cigarettes worth about Tk 67 lakh. The seized cigarettes were deposited with the customs officials, says a Coast Guard press release.
