Home Secretary Faroq's contract extended for another year

According to official sources, the home secretary was given another year of contractual service effective from today, making it his third such contract.

Faroq has been in line with the government's confidence since the BNP-led alliance government assumed in power and he may continue his services till the tenure of the government, sources said.

The home secretary has strong lobby within the government and both the home minister and the state minister for home are highly satisfied with his works, they added.
