Recommendations to check land-related forgery approved
Land-record 'khatian' would be printed through private organisations to provide the rent-rolls to the landowners in time after land survey as the cabinet yesterday approved a proposal to this effect.
The cabinet approved recommendations made by the cabinet committee formed earlier to simplify and modernise the land transfer process to check land-related forgery and avert disputes.
As proposed, the new measures are also to "infuse dynamism into land administration by updating the land laws".
The approval was given at regular weekly meeting held at the PM office yesterday with Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in the chair.
The approved short, medium and long-term recommendations would be implemented within three months, 12 months and 24 months respectively.
Besides, the council of ministers endorsed recommendation for enacting a coordinated law modifying the existing laws for voluntary organisations.
