Spread IT appliances, facilities in all spheres

He made the suggestion when a delegation of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) led by its President AM Iqbal called on him at Bangabhaban yesterday. Science and ICT Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan was also present.

The delegation members apprised the president of the BCS activities and said latest IT information is being conveyed to people through organising computer exhibition and fair at national level annually.

They said the Samity would now organise such exhibition at regional level.

Expressing satisfaction at the BCS activities, Iajuddin said, "Development planning based on IT can play an effective role in bringing prosperity in present times."

He believed that the BCS members could play an important role in displaying new innovations on ICT before all, including students.

The delegation pointed out indirect tax imposed on Voice Over Internet Protocol phone and import and export of computer and software. "This would hamper ICT expansion in the country," it said.
