16th Rover Moot begins
"Scouts are praised by all for their excellent services to society as well as to national development," he told the inaugural function of the 16th 'Rover Moot-2004' at Bahadurpur Rover Village here.
About 6,000 rover scouts including girls-in-rovers from different universities, colleges and madrassahs and 1,000 leaders and officials are taking part in the week-long moot.
Two teams of rover scouts from Australia and India are also taking part.
Vice-Chancellor of the National University Prof Aftab Ahmed, Secretary of the planning ministry Fazlur Rahman, Prof Saidur Rahman and Prof Abdur Rahman also spoke at the inaugural function.
Mannan Bhuiyan, also secretary general of the BNP, said rover scouts play a pioneering role in developing human resources.
