First direct Hajj flight from Ctg begins
With 274 Hajj pilgrims, the flight left Shah Amanat International Airport at 12.43PM.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mir Md. Nasiruddin inaugurated the flight as the chief guest at the airport lounge.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director Mahmudur Rahman, Director (Customer Service) Siddiqur Rahman and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Member (Operation) Group Captain Obayedur Rahman were present at the inaugural ceremony.
The state minister said Biman would carry 3288 Hajj pilgrims directly from Chittagong to Jeddah in 12 flights to continue till January 18. The return flights would start from February 8, he said.
