'Raise mass awareness about drugs'
Participation of people from all walks of life is a must to free the society from the curse of drugs, said the participants at a discussion in the city on Monday.
They said mass awareness has to be created in the society including schools, colleges and universities about the harmful effects of drugs.
Presided over by Mohammad Kamal Uddin Ahmed, director general of the narcotics control department, the discussion was participated by the representatives of various non-government organisations.
The director general urged the NGO representatives to take realistic approach against drug addiction in slums where drug peddlers usually reside.
